This is a challenging list. Except for the Louise Penny book, I have not read any of these, and many are new to me. So I look forward to your reviews on these books.
ReplyDeleteIt's going to be a challenge. I hope I can finish this list. And I want to start trying to do shorter reviews so I can squeeze two or three books Into one post. But shorter reviews are hard to write too.
DeleteWow you have some long ones here like Cuckoo. I want to read The Safekeep mostly ... still on the library wait list for it. Lone Women was on my list last summer and I never got to it. I hear the Sarah Perry book is good. I look forward to your thoughts on these.
ReplyDeleteCuckoo Land is long. I chose it brcause I have heard good things but mainly because part of the book is set in the middle ages so it counts for my medieval challenge. I am looking forward to the Safekeep and Enlightment too. I am on hold as well.
DeleteGreat list! You know I love Victoria Thompson's Gaslight mysteries, and I'm very interested in hearing your thoughts on Lone Women. I had some mixed emotions about that book. Happy reading all of these this fall. :D
ReplyDeleteI remember your review of Lone Women and it was very interesting. The mystery as I understand is what she is carrying inside the trunk she brings out west. I love mysteries and also a story about a woman homesteader is always going to get my attention.
DeleteI need to read The Long Way Home as well. And I didn't know about American Midnight, but that looks good as well. I love the cover of The Mapmaker's Daughter--may have to check that one out further. I'll be interested in what you think of Cloud Cuckoo Land--I loved it, but I know others who didn't. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteI just realized that I have The Long Way Home, but I am feeling the need to reread this series anyway. Some titles are more memorable than others. :)
DeleteI will be interested in The Long Way Home becomes it centers around Peter and Clara and they interest me although I know it ends tragically. I am a little nervous about Cloud Cukoo Land. It's partly set in the Middle Ages so it fits my challenge.
DeleteNice list. Good luck on finishing it. I've read three of them (The Safekeep, Lone Women, and The Long Way Home), and liked all three - Lone Women is the strange one in the mix, but I did like it - and hope to read Enlightment sometime before the end of the year when my library finally comes through for me.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sam. It's an ambitious list I hope I can get the books finished by around Dec 21 when fall officially ends. I am looking forward to Lone Women. The Safekeep and Enlightenment still on hold but its getting closer.
